Required Tools for This Task: Pic. 1

Checklist

Pot of hot water (just below boiling point)
Scissors
Tape measure
Hole puncher (if cutting your own strap)
Hammer or rubber mallet (optional)
Gloves

Submerge the straps in a pot of hot water for 5 minutes before installation. To protect your hands, we recommend wearing gloves. When ready, use tongs (optional) to handle the straps. Install each strap immediately after removing it from the water, as it will cool and harden quickly.

Step one: Secure one end of the strap to the frame

Push the rivet into both strap holes (if you purchased precut strap with aluminum clip or grommet, they will already be inserted on both sides). Insert the rivet into the hole of one side of the chair frame and if necessary, use a hammer to tap it in. As shown in

Step two: Pull strap

Stretch the strap and extend it 3 inches beyond the opposite side of the chair frame, as shown

Step three: Secure the strap to the opposite side of the frame

Insert the rivet into the hole on the right side of the chair frame. If needed, gently tap it in with a hammer as shown in
